Chief Executive Officer – Butterfield Trail Village
Deffet Group, Inc. is pleased to have been retained by Butterfield Trail Village to conduct an executive search for the Chief Executive Officer.
As Northwest Arkansas’s premier non-profit Life Plan Retirement Community since 1986, Butterfield Trail Village (Butterfield) has an eye on the future with a modern campus and amenities, serving residents now and for generations to come. Situated on 44 picturesque acres in the heart of Fayetteville, Butterfield serves over 400 residents and employs approximately 225 staff members.
Butterfield is searching for a CEO to lead the community into the future by meeting the needs of the next generation. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for the overall performance of Butterfield, developing and executing its strategic vision and maintaining fiscal sustainability. The successful candidate will be faced with an exciting opportunity to shape the future of the Butterfield community and will also establish meaningful relationships with various Butterfield groups such as staff, residents and families.
The CEO has direct supervisory responsibility for the positions of Chief Financial Officer and multiple directors (Marketing, Wellness, Technology, Capital Projects & Grounds, Dining Services, Healthcare Services, Resident Services, and Programs & Transportation). Reports under the directors include various supervisors and the Human Resources Manager.
The successful candidate must have at least six years in an executive/senior leadership position in eldercare and/or health care fields, as well as a BS/BA or equivalent; however, an advanced degree in a related field is preferred. It is also preferred that the candidate has a current Arkansas nursing home administrator license, or eligibility by reciprocity and has experience in a Continuing Care Retirement Community/Life Plan Community. The ideal candidate will exhibit the highest level of integrity and compassion and be confident but modest.
The finalist will engender trust, foster transparency in all communication, and be a consummate professional and will evidence a deep commitment to employee growth and development, customer satisfaction and the concepts and practices of continuous improvement. The CEO must be a good listener and open communicator who can function within a resident-driven culture, while remaining sensitive and open to resident input. They will recognize Butterfield’s stature in the community and will both continue and enhance its outstanding reputation by remaining highly visible and interactive among staff, residents and the community.
