The Lebanon VA Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Physician (Rheumatology) at the main Lebanon VA Medical Center. The Rheumatologist is responsible for providing Inpatient and Outpatient Rheumatology consults and follow-up, evaluation of patients with a variety of Rheumatologic conditions, and the performance of Rheumatology procedures. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Works with a multidisciplinary team that includes nursing, social work, dietetics, clinical pharmacy, physical therapist, behavioral health and clerical support. Provides Inpatient and Outpatient rheumatology consultations and clinic appointments for Veterans with both acute and routine rheumatology concerns via various modalities of care. Management of patients requiring biologics and IV bisphosphonates. Performs and records history and physical examinations. Evaluates, consults, develops diagnoses, and manages the panel of Veterans assigned. Enters progress notes in computerized medical record and completes workload documentation in a timely manner. Provides medical care encompassing acute and chronic medical conditions and all appropriate preventive care for Veterans. Orders diagnostic tests, medication, laboratory tests as medically relevant for each Veteran. Prescribes medication according to approved formulary, and in accordance with Federal and State Law. Sees patients via VA approved, secure video telemedicine modalities. Provides timely follow-up on results, including completion of view alerts. Determines medical assessment and develops treatment plans according to accepted protocols. Completes collaborative case reviews as assigned. Covers for other providers while on leave. Facilitate clear goals of care to patients and their families and/or caregivers. Participates in training of residents and fellows in the field of rheumatology. Other Duties as assigned by supervisors based on organizational needs and employee competencies. Work Schedule: Typical tour of duty is Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, though weekends and nightshifts may be required if Veteran needs arise.
