Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center (MGVAMC) is a level 3 facility with a campus in Spokane, Washington. Other sites of Veteran care delivery include two community based outpatient clinics, two rural health clinics, and a homeless program located off-site. Over 32,000 Veterans are seen annually through these sites of care. Applicants will be referred every two weeks and the announcement can close at any time after selection is made. The Pain Management Provider is a board-certified or board eligible physician with and interest in chronic pain reduction of all assigned Veterans. The individual selected will have demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of the delivery of outpatient Veteran care, and will possess an in-depth knowledge, including, but not limited to the following: - Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) principles - Patient Centered Management Module (PCMM) - Primary Care-Mental Health Integration (PC-MHI) - Strategic Analytics for Improvement and Learning (SAIL) - Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) - Opioid Safety Initiative (OSI) - Cerner Electronic Health Record implementation Coordination of Veteran care provided by the following services: Primary Care Behavioral Health Pharmacy Additionally, the staff physician is responsible for the proper delivery of the facility pain management program and works closely with Care in the Community service to ensure outpatient care is provided and managed in a coordinated manner. Contributes to the progressive improvement of outpatient health care delivery, which may include programmatic participation in initiatives within the facility and VISN 20. Leads and/or oversees clinical improvement and systems redesign initiatives within assigned services and as directed by the pain Supervisor. Participates in multiple hospital, VISN, and national committees, as needed. Participates in facility in-service programs, and education programs of the hospital and clinical services, as well as continuous quality improvement through peer review process. Promotes the participation of medical staff in the educational mission of MGVAMC including medical student, resident, and nursing student training. Supports research and process improvements. Work Schedule: Primary tour of duty will be 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday; some activities will occur outside VA administrative hours.
