This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more. The Orthopedic Surgeon's responsibilities include being able to workup, and treat patients presenting with illness or injuries of the musculoskeletal system. Maintains good diagnostic, judgmental, and therapeutic acumen. Timely documentation (notes and encounter forms) in accordance with facility policy. Serves as leader and/or active member on Medical Center committees as requested. Makes preliminary diagnosis; directs, prescribes or provides treatment, arranges for specialized care or patient referral as required. Effectively communicates with and utilizes other disciplines (e.g., nursing, medicine) to facilitate appropriate care for Veterans.
