The Social Worker (Urgent Care & Integration Recovery and Treatment) is located in the Mental Health department of the VA Boston Healthcare Systems, Brockton, MA location. The position will be assigned in two clinics, 75% time Brockton Urgent Care and 25% time Integration Recovery and Treatment section. This position is full time, 40 hours per week. The Social Worker (Urgent Care & Integration Recovery and Treatment) will be assigned in two clinics. 75% time: Brockton Urgent Care (BR UC) with responsibility to provide direct services for adult and geriatric Veterans and their families who present for services in this area including psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, short-term and solution focused counseling with individuals and families who may be in crisis, nursing home placements, education and referral for resources and benefits, case management and post-intervention follow-up. Responsibilities will also include consultation/education to Medical Center staff and service providers, the collection and maintenance of statistical data, program planning evaluation and modification, and the supervision of students as assigned. 25% time: Integration Recovery and Treatment section (BR ICIRT) with responsibility to provide recovery-oriented services to Veterans with Serous Mental Illness. ICIRT addresses the symptoms and sequelae of mental illnesses of schizophrenia/psychosis spectrum, bipolar disorder. ICIRT serves a diverse and broad range of veterans: ages; a variety of cultures, ethnicities, racial backgrounds; a broad spectrum of socioeconomic conditions; psychosocial issues from homelessness to recent incarceration to physical illness to significant trauma history (including military sexual trauma, combat trauma, and childhood trauma). Work Schedule: Full Time, 4 days a week at 10 hour shifts. 3 days will be in Urgent Care, 2-3 weekdays from approximately 12:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. and every other Sunday from approximately 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. 1 day will be in Integration Recovery and Treatment section from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. You will be required to work 2 weekends a month.
