The Permanent Charge Nurse (PCN) is a registered professional nurse who is accountable to the Nurse Manager. He/she functions as a day to day clinical leader, directing and guiding the nursing staff to assure, safe high-quality care and rendered. This includes the management, supervision and evaluation of care delivered by nursing and other allied health care staff. As a registered nurse, the Permanent Charge Nurse is also responsible for contributing to the establishment and implementation of evidenced based nursing standards of practice. Creates a positive work environment which enhances care delivery and professional development of clinically competent staff. Promotes, creates, demonstrates and ensures a culturally diverse workforce in which the values and needs of all individuals are respected. As RN-PCN he/she is responsible for planning holistic comprehensive person care focusing on an interdisciplinary approach. He/ She maintain expertise in skilled nursing care, rehabilitation and hospice and palliative care. He/ She is closely involved in planning and design of the environment of care. He/she possess knowledge of the Joint Commission Standards. The RN-PCN initiates improvement in care delivery and identifies and resolves problems impacting client care and unit operations. Key responsibilities include: Empowering staff to recognize their role in the system Creating an atmosphere where caring for clients is the foremost concern Coordinating and as necessary performing the provision of safe and high-quality care assisting staff to fulfill performance expectations Collaborating with the appropriate manager/administrator to develop, implement and evaluate goals and objects for the area (s) and Ensuring care plans reflect the individualized needs of each patient and that they are utilized as the road map to patient's care. Revises care plans according to changes in condition and medical orders. Work Schedule: Monday thru Saturday day shift and extended hours as needed Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
