The Salisbury VAMC is actively seeking a well-qualified Anesthesiologist with strong leadership and interpersonal skills to serve as a Staff Anesthesiologist at the Salisbury VAMC Clinic. Board Eligible or Board Certified candidates preferred. Regional anesthesia skills preferred. There are no Recruitment Incentives associated with this position: No Recruitment Incentive No Relocations Incentive No PCS Relocations Incentive The incumbent will provide anesthesia-related direct care in all functional areas of the OR, PACU, ICU, ward, and clinic setting as needed. He/she must meet anesthesia-related documentation requirements set for by Joint Commission. He/she will participate in development and implementation of program planning, objectives, and standards essential to delivery of quality anesthetic care. Duties Include, but not limited to: Provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, treatment of disease, and care at the end of life Demonstrate knowledge of established and evolving biomedical, clinical and social sciences, and the application of their knowledge to patient care and the education of others. Ensure practice-based learning and improvement, practitioners are expected to be able to use scientific evidence and methods to investigate, evaluate, and improve patient care. Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and other members of the health care team. Understanding of the context and systems in which health care is provided, and the ability to apply knowledge to improve optimizing health care. Show effectiveness in teaching, monitor and coordinate education activities, and comply with necessary trainee supervision requirements. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 3:30 PM Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: Annual leave at the rate of eight (8) hours per biweekly pay period; Sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per biweekly pay period; 10 paid Federal holidays per year.
